The Waidegg Formation of the Carnic Alpes has yielded Nautiloidea and Ammonoidea in two outcrops. The nautiloids are
determined as Domatoceras ? sp., Gzheloceras sp., Megaglossoceras sp. and M. schoentaubi n. sp., the latter being
erected and described as a new species.  An ammonoid specimen is a representative of pronoritids being determined as
Metapronorites ? sp.  The faunal relations of the Waidegg fauna to North America, Russia and Asia are discussed.
