Type species: Girtyoceras burmai Miller & Downs, 1950, p.576 [OD].

A:   Conch form like Eogonioloboceras, but with extremely evolute early whorls. At fifth whorl change increase of involution;
adult whorl with very narrow umbilicus.
B:   Biconvex growth lines crossed by fine spiral ornamentation.
G:   Suture-line like Eogonioloboceras, but even more angular; first lateral saddle pointed. Adventitious lobe almost
triangular, with concave sides.

[Ruzhentsev, 1966, p.56]: Conch completely evolute on the first four-five whorls, involuteness increasing sharply
afterwards. Adult conch discocone and involute. The thin transverse lines are bent twice, slight spiral ribs present.
Eight lobes in all. Ventral lobe wide, its sides diverging, its rami wedge-shaped; median saddle quite high, with tops
approximated. First outer saddle wide, with approximating sides, in adult state almost sharp-topped. Outer lateral lobe
sharp, with a double-bended, S-shaped outer side.

[Ruzhentsev & Bogoslovskaia, 1971, p.202: In the first four or five whorls the conch is ophiocone and very evolute,
after which a progressing involuteness sets in.  Conchs of adult specimens are subdiscicone.  Whorls are completely
involute.  Umbilicus is very tight.  The sculpture is formed by thin, double-bended growth lines and very weak lirae.
 Ventral lobe is wide, with parting sides, wedge shaped elements.  Medial saddle is quite high, with tops drawn
together.  First outer saddle is wide, with joining sides and in adult forms with an almost sharp top.  Lateral lobe is
sharpened and has a double-bended, S-shaped side.  Its base is close to the adoral side of the according lobe of
the preceding septum.
