Type species: Clymenia striata Münster, 1843, p.11 [OD].

A    Conch form discoidal to lenticular; venter usually broadly rounded, sometimes flattened; flanks mostly convex;
       umbilicus narrow to moderately wide.
B    Growth lines fine or coarse, biconvex; ventrolateral salient usually weak, sometimes as long as wide; moderately
      deep or deep external sinus.
C    Many species without ribs; some species with 20 to 30 simple ribs on inner flank.
D    Constrictions absent or visible as internal shell thickenings.
E:   No ventro-lateral grooves.
F    Usually no spiral lines.
G    No ventral lobe. Shallow adventitious lobe; lateral lobe strictly asymmetric with pointed ventral side and steep
      ventral flank.

[Miroclymenia Schindewolf, 1923: Holotype of type species maybe immature and of doubtful relationship;
for discussion see Schindewolf, 1937. Probably synonym of Cymoclymenia].
