Type species: Goniatites subcircularis Miller, 1889, p. 440 [OD].

A-D,F: Like Neoglyphioceras, but constrictions with ventral salient and spiral ornamentation consisting of 28 to 42 lirae; no riblets.
G:     Ventral lobe rather narrow, median saddle low, reaching one third of entire lobe.

Fig. TAX4814 A: L. subcircularis, B: L. concavus, C: L. zousfanensis, D: L. multicavus; E: Mirilentia uberta (from Ruzhentsev & Bogoslovskaia, 1971, fig.84).

[Ruzhentsev & Bogoslovskaia, 1971, p.321: Conch pachycone to subdiscoidal.  Very to completely involute whorls.  Moderately to very tight umbilicus. Sculpture made of thin lirae, the number of which has a wide range (28-42);  sometimes very weak lineae exist.  Constrictions always exist, but are developed mostly on the sides.  The growth lines and constrictions form a strong ventral salient and a weak lateral sinus.  Ventral lobe is quite thin, with somewhat parting sides.  The height of the medial saddle does not exceed one third of the whole lobe.]
