1971  Lytheoceras Ruzhentsev & Bogoslovskaia: 320.

Type species: Lytheoceras nitidum Ruzhentsev & Bogoslovskaia, 1971, p. 320 [OD].

Like Neoglyphioceras, but no spiral ornamentation. Deep constrictions, one or two per whorl, almost linear.

[Ruzhentsev & Bogoslovskaia, 1971, p.320: Conch not large, subdiscoidal.  Whorls very
involute.  In young individuals the umbilicus is tight and moderately tight in adults.
Sculpture extremely weak, mostly radial.  One to two almost straight and sharply outlined
constrictions on the shell surface exist.  Ventral lobe with weakly parting sides is quite
thin;  Height of the medial saddle is 3 times smaller then the whole lobe.]
