Type species: Phiconites triangulus Shevyrev, 1965, p.168; OD.

[Shevyrev, 1965, p.168]: Shell discoidal, evolute. Whorls almost triangular in cross-section. Venter narrowly rounded.
Umbilical border strongly attenuated. Umbilical wall high and steep. Surface of whorls smooth. Occasionally small
umbilical tubercles are seen. Ventral lobe divided by relatively narrow median saddle. First umbilical lobe narrow,
the next one very broad. On the inner side of the whorl there is only a dorsal lobe.

This genus is clearly distinguished among the xenodiscids by the triangular section of the whorls, the attenuated
umbilical border, the high umbilical wall, the narrow ventral saddle and the broad lobe lying along both sides of
the umbilical border or around it on the umbilical wall.
