Type species: Rotaraxoceras caucasium Ruzhentsev, 1959, p.61; OD.

[Ruzhentsev, 1959]: The shell is wheel-shaped, strongly involute, with broad whorls and a concave ventral side. The
umbilicus is narrow, very deep, with a strongly drawn off margin. The ventral lobe is the same as Araxoceras. The primary
umbilical lobe less than the ventral, with small serrations at the base. Following  from it the lobe develops very poorly.
Differs from genus Araxoceras by a number of pecularities -- much greater involuteness, concave ventral side, higher
whorls, relatively less dimensions in the primary umbilical lobe, very poor development of the next following lobe.

[Ruzhentsev 1962, p. 93, Rotaraxoceras: Conch wheel-like, with wide whorls (width/diameter = 0.64-0.77), with flat or
concave venter.  Umbilicus tight to middle sized (umbilicus/diameter of shell = 0,1-0,25), with strongly protruding rim.
Ventral and first umbilical lobe deep, the former much longer than the latter. First saddle wide; ventral rim divides it into two
parts.  Second umbilical lobe wide but underdeveloped in depth.]
