[MILLER & FURNISH, 1940, p.44: The conch of typical Artinska is narrrowly discoidal, being flattened laterally and
ventrally and abruptly rounded ventro-laterally. The umbilicus is small but not closed. The conch is rapidly expanded
borad in dorso-ventraldirection. There is a groove along the venter, and on either side of it is a row of prominent
rounded ventral nodes. In many cases these nodes are transversely elongate and extend on to the lateral zones
of the conch. Each growth line forms a ventral salient and on either side of it a broad rounded sinus, a similar but
slightly  smaller salient, and similar sinus which extends to the umbilicus. Distinct ridges are formed at regular
intervals by the growth lamelllae on the ventral portions of the zones of conch].
