1978  Chumazites Ruzhentsev & Bogoslovskaya: 146.

Type species: Chumazites primus Ruzhentsev & Bogoslovskaya, 1978, p. 147 [OD].

A:   Conch form small, subdiscoidal; inner whorls evolute, later whorls involute, with moderately narrow umbilicus.
B:   Ornamentation consisting of lamellae exhibiting shallow ventral sinus; no spiral sculpture. Inner mold with distinct
riblets; no constrictions.
G:   Suture like Aenigmatoceras, but first lateral saddle narrowly rounded.

[Phylogenetic relationship uncertain, assignment to Rhymmoceratidae tentative].

[Ruzhentsev et Bogoslovskaya, 1978, p.146: Conch small, subdiscoidal or pachycone.  Whorls very (almost completely) involute.  Umbilicus moderately tight.  Sculpture radial, represented by well developed lamellae, which form a slight ventral sinus, and by distinct riblets on the steinkern.  Constrictions absent.  Ventral lobe not very wide (width/height approx. 0.85), with wedge-shaped prongs.  Median saddle slightly exceeds half of lobe height.  First outer lobe thin, especially at the top.]
