     2001  Teicherticeratinae.-Klug: 502 [subfam. nov.].
     2002  Teicherticeratinae.-Korn & Klug: 66.

Klug, 2001, p.502: Shell of small to moderately large size, thinly discoidal. Whorl cross section initially subcircular, later oval or subtrapezoidal with laterally flattened, converging flanks. Moderately high to very high whorl expansion rates (2.3 to 3.5). Sculpture rursiradiate or rectiradiate, growth lines convex with a deep ventral sinus. Suture line without or with a small internal lobe, with a broad lateral lobe and a small and narrow external lobe.

Comparison (Klug, 2001, p.502): This subfamily is separated from the Palaeogoniatitinae KLUG 2001 because of the gently flattened venters and the convex growth lines which never bifurcate. Within the Teicherticeratidae, the two genera represent the more plesiomorphic group because of the convex ornamentation.

A:   Ventral side flattened.
B:   Growth lines convex.
