Type species: Pseudohalorites celestris Yabe, 1928,p.21 [OD].

[Zhou, 1985, p. 188: Shell involute, thickly discoidal: umbilicus almost closed. Venter narrowly rounded, Surface marked
in the early stage with fine growth lines, which are sometimes crossed by longitudinal lirae, and in late stage with strong
transverse ribs and tubercles near the umbilicus and the aperture. In the early ontogeny, constriction-stage lacking.
Suture ceratitic; ventral lobe lanceolate or tongue-shaped, slightly contracted at the front.

The present genus is separated from the genus Pseudohalorites Yabe, as it can be distinguished from the latter by the
flattened shell shape, the absence of constriction-stage in the early ontogeny and the development of tubercles near the
umbilicus and the aperture of the mature shell. Additionally, this genus bears a lanceolate or tongue-shaped
forward-contracted ventral lobe instead of the long and columnar ventral lobe in the latter.].

Pseudohaloritinae with goniatitic suture (ventral lobe rounded at basis, adventitious lobe almost acute, with beginning
incisions).
