A:   Conch form pachycone to globular, umbilicus moderately wide to narrow.
D:   Constrictions may be present on internal mold.
G:   Suture-line like Glaphyrites, but first lateral saddle subacute to acute on adult stages.

Pseudoglaphyrites exhibits at adult stage a comparatively high median saddle and an acute ventrolateral saddle similar S. oblatum (see TAX2633).

[Ruzhentsev & Bogoslovskaia, 1971: Conch big, pachycone. Whorls very or moderately involute. Umbilicus about median size.  Two constrictions per whorl, only on steinkern. Growth lines rectilinear, slightly sinuous. Prongs of ventral lobe rather wide, with narrow median saddle, reaching 70-80 % height of all lobes. First lateral saddle very narrow and acute, the umbilical lobe changes its position during evolution towards umbonal edge.]
