Type species: Gastrioceras (Branneroceras) henbesti Gordon, 1965, p.255 [OD].

A:   Conch form thick-discoidal, with wide umbilicus.
C-E: Umbilical ribs common; spiral ornamentation, constrictions or ventral groove may be present.
G:   Suture-line gastrioceran, with elongate, attenuate ventral prongs, median saddle being about half as high as entire
ventral lobe. Adventitious lobe elongate.

Manger & Saunders, 1980, p.31:
Diagnosis.-Quinnites accommodates thickly subdiscoidal (W/D approximately 0.60-0.80), moderately to widely umbilicate
(U/D approximately .25-.70), ribbed, coarsely ornamented reticuloceratids with either compressed or depressed whorls
(H/W = 0.30-0.85).Reticulate ornament consists of coarse, non-crenulate, transverse lirae and weaker longitudinal lirae.
Dichotomizing transverse lirae arise from umbilical ribs that rapidly diminish in strength beyond approximately 25 mm diameter
and may be lost entirely at diameters greater than 30 mm.  Four constrictions per whorl are strongest on the
whorl flanks near the umbilical shoulder and become weaker on the venter of large specimens.  A ventral sulcus is present
on both the internal mold and test of some specimens. Mature suture typically gastrioceratid with elongate"attenuate
ventral prongs and lateral lobe and a pointed, asymmetrical umbilical lobe centered on the umbilical shoulder.
