Type species: Aljezurites katharinae Korn, 1997, p.68 [OD].

A:   Conch pachyconic, umbilicus moderately wide. Umbilical margin rim-formed and nodded.
B-C: Early growth stage up to 12 mm diameter with midventral groove. Concave-convex riblets dichotomizing near umbilicus.
G:   Ventral lobe wide, with high median saddle; its prongs are asymmetric and ventrally pouched.

[Based on two almost complete specimens of the type species. Closely related to Umbetoceras and Bogdanoceras,
both from Ruzhentsev & Bogoslovskaya, 1971].

Genus definition: Genus of the family Homoceratidae with small pachyconic conch, and a rim-formed, nodded umbilical margin. Umbilicus moderately wide. Juveniles up to 12mm diameter with midventral groove.  Ornamentation with concave-
convex riblets which dichotomize near the umbilicus. Sutureline with very wide external lobe and high median saddle. Branches of the external lobe asymmetric and ventrally pouched.
