Type species: Otoceras (Metotoceras) dieneri Spath, 1930, p.  OD.

[Ruzhentsev, 1959, p.66]: The form of the shell is in general the
same as Otoceras, but the umbilical shoulder is not rimmed, but
rounded. The ventral lobe is with serrate branches (two - three
crenulations). There are four external umbilical lobes, of which
the last coincides with the umbilical shoulder; the crenulation
of it is rough. The inner segment of the suture line is not
investigated. L. Triassic; Himalayas.
This genus was picked out by Spath at the rank of subgenus;
however, taking into account the essential pecularities of the
shell and suture line, it should be transferred to a higher rank.
It differs from Otoceras by a round umbilical shoulder, serrate
branches of the ventral lobe, a smaller number of external lobes
and some less essential pecularities.
