Erfoudites differs from other genera of the family in the spiral ornament, and the biconvex course of its growth lines. in Erfoudites whorl height is less than 60% of the diameter (while in Posttornoceras it is over 65%)

The saddles A2 /A1 and 1/U are conjoined to form a septal pillar that is much weaker than that in Posttornoceras
