2010. Benimehlalites benimehlalensis: Bockwinkel, Korn & Ebbighausen 2010, p. 241, text-figs. 29, 30

Diagnosis: shell thickly discoidal to pachyconic; early juveniles subevolute and subsequent decrease of the uw/dm ratio; sudden opening of the umbilicus in the preadult stage by decrease in the whorl height and increase in the whorl width. Very narrow or narrow external lobe with divergent, sinuous flanks. Different from Bollandoceras in the wider adult shell (thickly discoidal or pachyconic as apposed to the thinly discoidal shell in Bollandoceras) and in the umbilicus that shows an accelerated opening rate in the middle growth stage. Pachybollandoceras differs in the evolute juvenile stage.
